The front area is made up of three sections, each facing a different way, with a strong volumetric shape, thanks to the continuous fibre cement surround. These sections, with a substantial use of glass  on the playground side, are protected with canopy roofs similar to the one over the main entrance. Not only do they frame views in unique style, but they also act as a reference for the children. At eyesight level, from inside the classrooms, the children can see thresholds of differing scales, with 1.20m-high cubicles that jut out from the façades. These remind us of one our prime childhood refuges, the tables under which we used to play. Inside, they are tiled in the same colour as the external canopy roofs, which are also lined internally with glazed stoneware tiles. In this way, the different thresholds are linked chromatically in a transition toward the outside playground.
