Actiwater Kit
There are just a few basic rules to keep your SPA in perfect shape. In the first place it is important to remember that, by means of the filtering circuit supplied, surface dirt and deposits captured by the filter can be eliminated quickly and safely. Another typically chemical operation is the treatment of water using products specifically designed to contrast and efficiently prevent the formation of moulds, bacteria and algae. Thanks to this periodical treatment water is maintained chemically perfect and suitable for bathing.
The operation consists in 4 distinct phases:
- measuring and checking the pH level
- pH adjustment
- addition of the disinfecting agent
- algae treatment
In addition to using the following products, the shell must be periodically cleaned.
Actiwater Kit contains the main components for correct water maintenance: Litmus paper, Actiwater pH-, Actiwater O+, Actiwater Clear.

Actiwater PH +
When the pH value is not within the range
described at point 1.3, chemical products
designed specifi cally to correct the pH value of
the water can be used.

Actiwater O+ tablets
Whatever the fi ltering technique used, most of
the micro organisms do not end up in the fi lter
and the Spa water may not be perfectly hygienic.
Therefore, it will always be necessary to use a
chemical water disinfecting treatment.
As well as being sterile, the Spa water must also
be sterilising, i.e. it must contain a percentage
of disinfectant capable of instantly neutralising
possible sources of pollution.
Disinfectants normally used to treat water are
chlorine, bromine and active oxygen; the ideal
solution for family Spas is active oxygen because
it offers many advantages.
Active Oxygen ensures maximum disinfecting
effi ciency thanks to its oxidising properties by
means of which it quickly cleans and clears water.
Just 15 minutes are required for the system to be
ready to use again. It is effi cient even if the pH
values are not ideal, it does not smell and is not
an irritant because it does not contain chlorine,
aldehyde or alcohol and it does not alter the
water hardness.
Jacuzzi® suggests the use of slow-melting tablets
that release a good quantity of free oxygen in the
water over a long period of time. The minimum
level of free oxygen must be kept between 1,5
and 3 mg/l.
The active oxygen product marketed by Jacuzzi®
is ActiWater O+.

Actiwater Clear
Algae are unicellular organisms that can quickly
proliferate in water, especially if it is warm.
Algae spores usually enter the Spa water through
wind, rain, etc. Even human beings can be spore
carriers so Spas installed indoors can also be
subject to algae problems.
It is a good idea to intervene immediately if there
is algae in the Spa water because the longer you
wait, the more diffi cult it will be to eliminate.
It is advisable to add an anti-algae product in
various spots of your Spa water at least one
a week to complete the disinfecting action of
the oxygen.
The product offered by Jacuzzi® for this operation
is ActiWater Clear.

Actiwater Filter Clean
The main aim of a filter is to retain the impurities and the organic particles in the water to ensure water hygiene and quality. Thus, it is fundamental to guarantee the perfect efficiency of filtering agents by proper maintenance. Jacuzzi® suggests the ActiWater Filter Clean product that has been specifi cally developed to periodically clean quartz or cartridge fi lters and that has exceptional scale-solvent and degreasing properties; it also has a sanitising action and prevents the formation of bacteria pockets.

Actiwater Nokal
Limescale is a mineral dissolved in water in the form of a mineral salt called calcium carbonate (CaCO3). The quantity of calcium carbonate determines the hardness of the water. As the water temperature increases, calcium carbonate tends to recompose and deposit on the surface (limescale deposits). To keep limescale to a minimum it is indispensable to use a specific product such as ActiWater NoKal marketed by Jacuzzi®. This is a very strong limescale inhibitor that contributes towards clearing the water eliminating body grease and the metals dissolved in water.

Actiwater Nofoam
If a foaming substance is added to the Spa water (essential oils, detergents etc.), or if foam forms on the surface, the water can be treated using a silicone-based product capable of stopping the formation of foam and eliminating the existing foam in the hot tub. For this operation Jacuzzi® suggests ActiWater NoFoam.

Tester Oxigen & PH
The pH value is the parameter that indicates how acid or basic the water is. To ensure maximum effi ciency of the disinfectant and a good Spa water quality the pH value of the water must be between 7.2 and 7.6. It is a good idea to always check the pH value of the water and adjust it, if necessary, before adding the disinfectant. It must however be checked once a week by using a tester. The product offered by Jacuzzi®, to check the residual quantity of active oxygen (see point 1.2) and the pH value of the Spa water is TESTER OXYGEN and pH. This product checks these values easily and accurately.
