Angelman Syndrome

TRES is cooperating with the Angelman Syndrome Association by financing the book entitled Soy Ángel, thus raising 10,000 Euros for the project.

Giving multiplies, and this small story about TRES is a good example. At the beginning of the year, company employees and management donated 3,500 Euros to the Angelman Syndrome Association. The donation comes from the TRES’S “charity basket”, an original initiative with a social purpose that the company and its workers have been organizing for many years. TRES learned about the association through one of the workers at its plant, who has two children affected by Angelman Syndrome (AS).

The Angelman Syndrome Association used the funds donated by TRES to publish the children's book Soy Ángel, published by Palabras de Agua, written by Óscar J. Aguilar and illustrated by Rocío Sánchez, which tells the experience of a boy affected by the syndrome. The price of the book is 10 Euros and sales so far have raised 10,000 Euros for the project.

TRES “CHARITY BASKET”

Every year, all TRES employees who wish to do so make a donation by taking part in a draw for gifts received by the company during the Christmas season. After estimating the total amount of the funds raised, TRES doubles that sum and donates it in full to an NGO or a social association (every year, the funds obtained are donated to a different association which is proposed by the employees themselves). In this way, the company distributes all the Christmas gifts received by management among its employees, thereby allowing all its workers to take part in a social charity campaign.

ANGELMAN SYNDROME

The Angelman Syndrome Association was set up in Barcelona in October 1996, following an initiative by a group of parents whose children were affected by this syndrome. It is a chronic neurological disorder caused by a genetic alteration that leads to intellectual disability, speech impairment, motor and balance difficulties, epilepsy and a happy, excitable demeanor. The association’s objective is to facilitate communication between families through support, advice and information, and to obtain a deeper knowledge of AS by encouraging research and promoting its dissemination and visibility in society.

TRES thanks the Angelman Syndrome Association for allowing the company to collaborate in the cause, and encourages it to continue working to achieve full integration and improve the quality of life of all persons affected and their families.
