I'd like to have the calendar shown on the page without needing to click a button to display it.

Hello fkmccallion,

The calendar component has not been designed to be embedded directly on the page, but as it seems a valuable feature to have, an appropriate feature request has been issued. The Team shall decide whether to include it in one of the future updates.
