Previous versions of MDBootrap allowed customisation of styles via the variables files as outlined in your documentation here: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/angular/css/variables/

We have recently upgraded to v9 and these files are no longer present; can you please advise.

In v8 we moved component styles from global stylesheet to component scoped styles. Unfortunately, due to how the component styles work, changing global variables will not affect the appearance of the component. We are currently looking for the best solution for this problem.
