Materika by Marazzi on display at the Triennale in Milan.
Jueves 12 Mayo 2016
The ‘A Tribute to Domus 1000’ exhibition will be open to the public from 12 May to 5 June 2016.
“A Tribute to Domus 1000”, the project in which top Italian and international design firms have paid homage to Domus by customising one of their standard products in the Pantone 2016 colours Rose Quartz and Serenity, takes its place in the programme of the 21st Triennale in Milan, with an exhibition open to the public from Thursday 12 May to Sunday 5 June at the Impluvium.
Marazzi's tribute to Domus stars Materika, the 3D slimline covering in a large rectangular size which received the 2015 ADI Ceramics Design Award, in the two colours chosen by Domus to celebrate its 1000th issue.
Materika appears in the Rose Quartz colour in the Spatula3D version, the outcome of the Marazzi laboratories' constant research into the three-dimensionality of surfaces, and in the Serenity colour in its version of the Triennale '4 curve tile', designed for Marazzi by Ponti and Rosselli and presented at the Milan Triennale during the 12th International Exhibition in 1960.
The distinctive nature of the Materika surface, which does not allow the reflection of light, gave rise to an unusual interpretation of the Rose Quartz and Serenity Pantone shades and of the collection itself, which, inspired by concrete and natural clays, was originally produced in neutral and dusty colours.
The tribute edition of Materika produced for Domus reflects Marazzi's ability to interpret and meet the needs and wishes of architects and designers, where necessary with products tailor-made for special projects in limited editions.
After the success of the preview during the Milan Design Week in the ten windows of the Benetton store on Piazza del Duomo, the Fabrica communications research centre will again be creating the special exhibition design of “A Tribute to Domus 1000” at the Milan Triennale.
